Have your camper attend all 8 weeks or just selected that perfect one week your camper needs the most. The cost is $90.00 per week, plus any after care cost ($25.00) if needed. The one time registration fee of $55.00 per camper is due up front to start their registration. Each camper weekly cost is due the Monday prior to the requested week. All Hands On The Meals
Introduction to cooking. All great chefs’ have to start with the basic foodie knowledge, like how to read a recipe, what works as a substitute, how to decrease or increase a recipe and what food items works best with each recipe. Camper will learn food safety, how to safely use a knife, and how to cook without burning down the house. Campers will enjoy using their six senses daily in cooking and eating. Engulf on new food items like start fruit, various tomatoes, as well they will learn which tomato is good for cooking and which is best in a salad.  Courtney from the Atlanta Division of Sysco, the number one and largest food provider for restaurant around the world, will bring a large selection of new fresh fruits and vegetables for campers to taste, touch and learn how to prepare them. This class will take campers around the world in learning about new food.

All Hands On The Meals
I Can Bake: Everyone loves that perfect cupcake, those moist brownies, that perfect tasting pancake and that right from the oven blueberry muffin.  Campers will learn what the difference is in sugars, what flours is best used in what recipe. They will learn what a quick bread is and how to make them. They will divide recipes to fit family size.  No more preparing for the army when there is just three eating.  This class is full of great fun and eating.

All About Me
Grooming Class:  Camper will be taught what good grooming is and how does it affect their lives.  Everyone visited the dentist to get their teeth checked for cavities and they are shown how to brush their teeth, but not why. I hear kids say why do I have to wash my feet when I take a shower, they never will they say that after this class?  Have you heard “I am too young to wear deodorant?” They will be instructed on when is the proper time to start wearing various personal hygiene products. That is your hair and wear it however you want, but this is what you are saying.  The owners of Will’s Barber and Beauty Salon will show the students how haircuts tell a lot about how you feel about yourself. This class will have campers asking their parents did you brush your teeth and why did you get that haircut?

All Hands On Meal
Let’s Do Dinner: Wouldn’t it be great if you could get your camper to prepare dinner from what’s in your cabinet? Campers will learn the basic skill to preparing dinner. They will learn how to read labels, what does it mean when it has 85/15 or 93/7 on my round meat. Why does that chicken look so white? Why should you ask the deli person about the date on the turkey that’s on sale? How long after the use by date can I keep the food items? This class is packed with so much knowledge that the parents are going to be sending their camper to buy the food.

Fitness Is Fun
You Are What You Eat and Your Fitness: Why enjoy the great food if it’s going to hang around for years after you eat it? Campers will learn fun fitness ideas that will keep the food they eat moving right through their bodies. Camper will learn that processed foods which are loaded with sodium affects how they move and live.  This class will show what amount of salt each camper should have and what they are having based upon what they eat. This class will have your camper saying lets go home, I do not want that food from a fast food place and they will even be ready to cook the meal. Look out after dinner they may have you moving too.

I Am Clean
Dress For Success: Have you looked at you camper as they are leaving the house and said his cloths are dirty. I wish I had time to teach her how to wash her cloths?  I know those pants was wrinkled but did they have to wear them? Camper will learn that how they dress tells a lot about how they see themselves and what people will say about them. Camper will have a one on one talk with an officer from Douglasville police department on what they see when they see a camper’s outfit.  Erin Newton a director from Career Builder will talk with campers about what outfits are good for the type of job they are pursuing and what companies are looking for when selecting staff. Camper will have a face off in ironing.  They will learn how to properly wash clothes. This class will have your campers running to wash and iron their clothes.

How About Breakfast: It’s Saturday morning and you would love to sleep in, but there is a knock on your bedroom door, I am hungry. Your first response would be okay go cook. The only problem is she is 7 years old and you are not okay with her around the stove without you right there.  Camper will be taught recipes like French Toast that can be prepared in the oven. They will cook eggs like the little chef on the TV show.  Campers will share Foodie’s secret while chefs go to school to obtain this knowledge. They will make you quick breads and homemade biscuits. WOW are you ready for breakfast right now? This class is full of pantry competitions, where camper team up to compete for the best breakfast based upon what’s at Camp Life for that day.

I Am Ready To Entertain: Table manners appear to be a thing of the past. Do you hate taking your camper out to eat and they act like little animals? It’s Thanksgiving Day and you are having 20 people over, wouldn’t it be great if your camper could assist in planning the menu and help prepare dinner? Camper will be taught how much to prepare when planning a party based upon these key facts; type of menu, time of day and the age of the guest. Campers will learn trade secrets on how caterers plan their menus. Why chicken cost more when prepared by a caterer? Campers will learn how to properly set a table for entertaining based upon the meal being served.
